Why I Love My...

Glenda Johnson! AKA Gram! The best grandmother ever, literally. She has such a sweet, humble, genuine, and giving spirit. She’s always willing to assist someone in need. She teaches me life lessons…from education, financial stability, and even men! She is my joy! In a way, through her, I came and I’ll forever be grateful.

I want to say I’m spoiled by her, but she makes sure that I am well deserving of whatever she gets me. She has instilled so much wisdom into me, and although I’m only 16, she knows what to say and when to say it so that I’m properly prepared for my adulthood that is approaching sooner than I think. At an early age, she taught me that things won’t always go my way and that’s okay because that’s just how life works. She always reminded me how practice makes perfect and she is the reason I go so hard in my education and the reason why I’m always so diligent with work. She taught me the true meaning of how no one will give me anything in life, I have to work for and earn it. I’m so determined and anxious for my life to take off, just to make her proud. I know she is proud of me already; however, I know she’ll be even more proud of me when I’m grown. I want her to be able to see that everything that she has done for me or said was definitely not in vain.

I remember when she would press my hair for special occasions, and to this day, she makes sure I’m clothed really cute! She is the best cooker I know, she is always cleaning…I think she has OCD; but that’s fine! (: She would bake with me, do yoga with me and so much more amazing things. To me, she’s the perfect grandmother, I wouldn’t trade her for anything in this world and I honestly don’t know how I’d function without her in my life. This is why I love my Gram so much!
